Prof Mariza Vorster is the head of the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal’s Department of Nuclear Medicine, which currently includes three hospital sites in Durban, South Africa. She has considerable experience with the use of alpha and beta targeted radionuclide therapies and was the first to establish treatment with Ac225-PSMA and Ac225-DOTATATE in KwaZuluNatal in Jan of 2023. Prof Vorster is an IAEA expert and collaborator and has authored and coauthored over 120 peer-reviewed publications (which includes several book chapters). Her research focus is the use of novel Ga-68 based tracer applications and theranostics aimed at solving important clinical problems.
